Directions to Cae Iago

To Cae Iago from North Wales

Head for Chester and take the A483 South. Continue past Wrexham, Oswestry, Welshpool, Newtown, Llandrindod-Wells, Builth Wells, Llanwrtyd Wells, to Llandovery. At Llandovery, turn right on to the A40 towards Llandeilo. At Llanwrda (about 4 miles past Llandovery) you take the right turn on to the A482 towards Lampeter

Follow this for about 8 miles, through the village of Pumpsaint, along the straight, over the bridge and up (another!) hill. At the top of the hill you will see a brown tourist sign, so take a right turn towards Ffarmers.

Go through Ffarmers and we are the second farm on the left once you are out of the village, about half a mile from the Drovers Pub.

To Cae Iago from the M25/M4

Join the M25, and follow it West to the M4.

Follow the M4 all the way to Cross Hands (about 187 miles) via the Severn Bridge. At Cross Hands take the A476 to Llandeilo, then take the A40 (left) towards Llandovery. At Llanwrda (about 4 miles before you reach Llandovery) you take the A482 towards Lampeter

To Cae Iago from the Midlands

If coming from the Birmingham direction use the M42 and M5 and M50 to join the A40 at Ross-on-Wye heading towards Monmouth. If coming from the Oxford direction, take the A40 through Gloucester and stay on it through / around Ross-on-Wye.

Both routes then follow the A40 through Monmouth, Abergavenny, Brecon, Sennybridge and Llandovery.

NB. You have to be careful about 5 miles past Monmouth, because you have to come off the dual carriageway you are on to follow the A40 (sign-posted to Abergavenny). It is very easy to go sailing past!!! (We have all done it)

About 4 miles past Llandovery (at a place called Llanwrda) you take a right turn on to the A482 towards Lampeter.
